Mold Testing

Tulsa Radon Testing - Tulsa Home InspectionThere are 2 different types of mold tests, a swab sample and an air quality test. If there is a specific area of the house that has visible microbial growth, this can be tested with a swab sample to determine what type of growth it is.

Two air quality samples are taken inside the house to determine what type of spores are in the air. An additional sample is required to determine what type of spores are in the outdoor air. This sample is also called a control. These to samples are compared to determine if there are elevated spore counts on the interior sample.

Both the swab and air quality samples are sent to the lab to be tested to determine what was found. From the day the sample is submitted to when the results are received is 3 business days or less.

Mold is a pesky problem, and in some cases it can be hard to tell exactly what type of mold you’re dealing with. To help solve this mystery once and for all we recommend taking two different kinds samples when there’s visible growth inside your house: one swab sample from an area that has been bothering you (like above baseboards) or near outlets where black fungus often grows; another air quality test using ventilation systems outside on both sides as well at ground level.

Mold tests come up differently depending upon whether they analyze bacterial spores found within indoor environments such as homes, offices and schools or whether the focus is on testing for airborne mold spores that are ubiquitous outdoors. Most mold testing report results will have a description of the type of mold found as well as the concentration levels in either indoor or outdoor air quality.
